DALHOUSIE : AMBARSARIAN TE LAHORIAN DA SWITZERLAND

Dalhousie sinks when it learns that Punjab is divided

Just a 4 hour journey from Amritsar is the 7000 feet hgh hill station of Punjabis which was once part of Gurdaspur district. A couple visiting Dalhousie on May 9, 2009, took we also with them. Dalhousie we found was truly the queen among hill stations. We had to wear sweaters and took quilt in the night but the young couple that took us  there fell sick and we had to return the following morning.

I remained busy throughout clicking photographs of the scenes that captivated my mind. I  reproduced an article published in Punjab Monitor in 1997

Leaving Pathankot as we commence upward journey we see the Ranjit Sagar dam from distance of course

MOUNTAIN OF MOLE HILL. IS NOT IT?

A new temple has come up on the way. Interesting images there.

And we are in dalhousie

It is me : B.S.Goraya

Dalhousie the queen of hills

S. Ajit singh S. Bhagat Singh 's uncle had come to Dalhousie when the Independence of India was declared on 14-8-1947. He was shocked to to know that Punjab stood divided. Death came instantly to him.

Can you believe there could snow clad mountains in the neighbourhood of Dalhousie. But they are in fact at a distance of 60-70 kms.
